All this time we’ve been looking for Waldo, but maybe there’s another man in a striped shirt we should be keeping an eye out for — iconic pop artist Andy Warhol.
In a new picture book called “Where’s Warhol?” by Catherine Ingram and Andrew Rae, kids and adults alike are on the hunt for Warhol, illustrated with that shock of white-blonde hair, dark sunglasses and a cool, black jacket.
In the book, Warhol can be spotted at Studio 54 with other celebs of his era, as well as at the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo and in New York City with graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquait, according to a post on Toyland, a Gawker Media blog. Ingram, an art historian, dutifully researched the various histories and art to make sure the pictures are as accurate and educational as they are fun.
“Where’s Warhol?” comes out in hardcover on May 3 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon.com for $10.12. Maybe once we find him, Warhol will explain to us the meaning of some of his more interesting pieces.
