Warhol: a Man of Few, Few Words

Warhol Sedgwick

Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick appeared on The Merv Griffin Show On October 6, 1965.

Griffin discusses Warhol’s painting, the Campbell’s Soup can, that brought him to fame. Sedgwick speaks on  the man , Warhol’s, behalf, and she asks, “What is art, anyway?”

Sedgwick claims that, “The can is part of the culture. The effect of it you might not realize. That’s art. It has something to do with the reflection of it. If you begin seeing it on canvases, you start thinking about it.”

Something to think about, for sure…
