Opening Night of Warhol – A Different Idea of Love took place last Friday. The premiere of the highly anticipated exhibition brought together a packed house, eager to see a showcase of some of Warhol’s most famous pieces.
Andy Warhol, known for his creation of the pop art genre of art and his representation of consumerism and celebrity culture, died in 1987. His art is the most coveted and collected in the world, earning $633 million US in sales in 2013 alone.
The free exhibition features the largest collection of Warhol prints and paintings in Canada, and is now officially open to the public. Warhol – A Different Idea of Love is open from 11 am to 6pm at 1280 Homer Street, Vancouver, and runs until March 30.
