SIU Museum Sets Receptions for Spring Exhibits

Two exhibits will be featured at a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, at University Museum, Faner Hall, Southern Illinois University and several other exhibits also have receptions set in April and May at SIU Museum.

A closing reception is on tap Friday for Chintia Kirana, School of Art & Design’s MFA, Installation, and Zhe “Joe” Ren, School of Art & Design’s MFA, New Media 2-D.

Another exhibit, Celebrity & Scintillation: Andy Warhol’s Party: Screenprints and Photographs, will be displayed through Wednesday, April 15.

An exhibit by College of Mass Communication and Media Arts MFAs will open April 21 and have a reception from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday, April 23. The art will be displayed through May 8.

Closing receptions are set for Joey Tigert, School of Art & Design’s MFA Painting and Kathy Maves, School of Art & Design’s MFA, Ceramics from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 24.

Receptions will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, for Adam Cohen, School of Art & Design’s MFA, Glass and Robin Gordon, School of Art & Design’s MFA. Both of the exhibits will start May 1 and continue through May 8.

Closing dates for two other displays include Wood Carver Fred Myers Exhibit which will be open to the public through May 1 and Paper Cuts: Polly Winkler-Mitchell’s Alphabet Scherenschnitte & Chinese Paper Cuts from the Museum’s Collection which will be displayed through May 8.
