Converse sneakers and Andy Warhol have both made immeasurable impressions on pop culture, and now the two icons are teaming up for a new collection that combines apparel and artwork.
The Converse All Star Andy Warhol Collection brings Warhol’s visionary artwork to a range of sneakers. Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup print is plastered on a variety of Converse’s iconic silhouettes, from low to high tops. The kicks come in either an all-over print, or with the soup cans stacked on top of one another, a technique Warhol used in his own work. The other pattern used across the shoes is a mix of motorcycles and newspaper ads taken from a series of prints Warhol did in the mid ’80s. The collection also features select apparel that features the sneakers as well as Warhol’s work.
Although you’ll probably never have the chance to own a real Warhol, they sell up to a record-breaking $43 million, this drop isn’t a bad Plan B.
The collection will be available at Converse’s stores and website on Feb. 7.
